26/07/2024

In a commendable effort to promote environmental sustainability, EDT Offshore has introduced a large recycling ball at the YS Stadium in Limassol, aimed specifically at the young athletes who use the facility daily. This initiative underscores the company’s commitment to reducing human impact on the planet and fostering a recycling culture among the youth.

The recycling ball was unveiled during a special event at the YS Stadium in Agios Athanasios. Prominent figures, including the Mayor of Limassol, Yiannis Armeutis, and representatives from EDT Offshore, attended the event. Constantinos Silitziotis, speaking on behalf of EDT, educated the children on the importance of recycling and provided guidance on how to use the new bin properly.

"Recycling is one of the simplest ways to mitigate the impact of human activity on the environment," stated CS. "The seas play a decisive role in our lives, and, as a shipping company, they are at the heart of our activities. Our ships sail the world's oceans, making their protection and preservation our responsibility. The oceans offer us fish for food, cool waters for relaxation and fun in the summer, and host countless marine species essential for preserving the environment."

The recycling ball is expected to serve as a practical tool for the children, encouraging them to adopt eco-friendly habits and understand the significance of environmental conservation. By targeting the younger generation, EDT Offshore aims to instil a sense of responsibility towards the environment from an early age, inspiring hope for a more sustainable future.

Mayor Yiannis Armeutis praised the initiative, highlighting the positive impact such projects have on the community.

This initiative by EDT Offshore is a clear demonstration of our unwavering commitment to environmental sustainability. It not only encourages community involvement and awareness but also sets a positive example for other companies to follow, reinforcing our collective efforts towards a greener planet.
