In classical Greek mythology, Aquila was identified as Aetos Dios. He was the Eagle that carried the thunderbolts of Zeus. He was sent by Zeus to carry the shepherd boy Ganymede to Mount Olympus.
In today’s world Aquila apart from giving its name to a town in Italy and a famous constellation of the celestial equator, is also an Oil Producing field in the South Adriatic Sea. EDT has been recently awarded a scope with the EDT Niovi in the Aquila field by the EPCI contractor to assist with the disconnection of the FPSO successfully operating in the field for a number of years.
